CIFS Clients

There are also millions of SMB/CIFS clients out there. The majority are Windows systems. Some notable exceptions:

  • For Macintosh:
    • Thursby's client/server suite "Dave".
    • Apple's client software for MacOS X.
  • For Linux:
    • smbclient - command-line tool.
    • smbfs - Enables mounting of SMB/CIFS shares.
    • SMB/CIFS integration with popular desktops.
  • For Others:
    • Sharity Lite
    • SMB file system for *BSD (basis of MacOS X client)
