Once there was a little boy named Aled and a little girl named Amalia. They built a rocket in the yard, near the swingset. It was a big rocket. It had a kitchen and a Captain's chair and two bedrooms... It was very big for lots of people.
When night time came, and the sky filled with stars, Aled and Amalia took their doggy Bran, and their kitty Marika, and climbed into the rocket. Neko stayed home to take care of Mamma and give her kisses. Aled turned on the rocket computer and Amalia closed the hatches, and then they both climbed into the Captain's chair. Amalia grabbed the lever and Aled counted "...5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 0!". He pushed the big blue button and the rocket went whoooosh!
Cassandra, who lived next door, looked out of her window to see what had made the noise, and she saw Aled and Amalia flying off to outer space.
Aled and Amalia flew their rocket toward the sun, but it was too hot to get too close, so they flew around the sun to Mercury. It was very hot on Mercury, so they took out some bread, set it on a rock, and made toast. Then they put jelly on the toast and ate it all up. Bran got the pieces that dropped to the ground. They decided that it was too hot to stay on Mercury, so they went to Venus.
When they got to Venus, it was even hotter and it was cloudy, too. The clouds were as thick as soup. Aled called it gas soup. He took out the things he didn't like, and he and Amalia had gas soup for lunch. Marika licked out the bowls.
After lunch, Amalia and Aled flew their rocket past the Earth and the Moon until they got to Mars. Mars was very cold, so they each put a spoon into a cup of juice, and put the cups outside. In a little while, they had frozen juice on a stick to eat.
After they left Mars, they went to Jupiter. On the way, they passed
through the asteroid belt. The rocket was getting banged by lots of
asteroids. Bran barked, and they got away! Aled grabbed lots of small
asteroids and cooked them until they were soft. They ate asteroids for
supper, and left the rest for their next trip, when Cassandra would come
with them.
Jupiter was very stormy and they couldn't get very close to the planet so they flew their rocket ship around the moons of Jupiter, and then they flew on to Saturn. When they got there, Aled and Amalia put on spacesuits and skates, and skated around on Saturn's rings.
When they were done at Saturn, they flew past Neptune, Uranus, and
Pluto and out into the stars. Way out, past the comets, they met an
alien. He was in a flying saucer, his name was AieTeeQueEmVeeQueQueOot
and he was from the planet BugJeuuszze.
Amalia and Aled flew their rocket to the moon. When they got there, they went exploring. All of a sudden, lots of mean guys came out from the craters and took Aled and Amalia underground to the City of the Moon.
Aled and Amalia both had strong flashlights for exploring the moon. When they turned them on, the mean guys were frightened, and they swooshed away quickly and went right out of the moon. Aled and Amalia explored the City of the Moon, but then they got hungry and thirsty so they got back into their rocket and zoomed home.
